Prospective owners wishing to be placed on our Catahoula puppy waiting list must place a $100.00 non-refundable deposit with us. Your deposit will be counted toward the purchase price of your puppy. If, for any reason, you decide not to purchase a puppy from Abney Catahoulas, you will forfeit your deposit. Your deposit indicates to us that you are serious about owning an Abney Catahoula. It is our policy that none of the planned breedings will occur until there is a minimum of six (6) deposits on file.
Clients are added to our waiting list in the order of the date their deposit is received. Clients will have the opportunity to choose their puppy in the same order. When someone passes on a puppy, the next person on the list will be offered the opportunity to choose an available puppy. This will continue until all puppies are placed in new homes. As puppies are chosen, the lower clients will be moved to the next highest position on the list, and will be offered puppies from the next litter. If any puppies are not placed with clients on the waiting list, the puppies will be offered openly to the general public, and no breeding will occur until all puppies are placed.
Cancellations for any reason will result in the loss of your deposit.
The starting price on our puppies is $450.00. Pricing is determined by bloodline, titles, and/or accomplishments of the breeding pair. There are occasions, under extenuating circumstances, where puppies could be priced lower. If this occurs, clients will be notified, and choosing will begin again from the top of the list.
There are circumstances where a client wants to choose from a particular breeding. We will do our best to accommodate you, but you must understand that those ahead of you are waiting for the right puppy, as well. Regardless of whether you pay in full or offer to pay more for the opportunity to choose first, the order of the waiting list will take precedence.
When the puppies are four (4) weeks of age, we will provide in selection order a group picture of the litter via e-mail, along with a short description and sex of each pup. If you see a puppy that you are interests you and require additional pictures, we will do our best to accommodate you. You are asked to choose two or more puppies in the order of desirability in the event the one you selected is chosen ahead of you. Once you pass on a litter, you will have to wait for the next litter.
All puppies will be wormed a minimum of three (3) times and receive their first vaccination prior to leaving the kennel. Puppies may not be picked up at the kennel prior to six (6) weeks of age, or be shipped prior to eight (8) weeks of age. (See Shipping Information)
Each puppy will be delivered with its UKC registration papers, health record, and a quart of food that is currently being fed. Shipped puppies will also be accompanied by a Veterinarian Certificate of Health.
Please view our Guarantee. Note that we cannot guarantee Coat or Eye Color, as these are genetic characteristics that cannot be predetermined.
